Such strange geologic formations such  as what we found on this world can only indicate very curious weather occurring here. While it possesses a substantial atmosphere, it is unfortunate the ammonia levels it contains makes breathing somewhat unbearable after a few moments.

Mr. Mason has quipped that after investigating the moon, our shuttle's windows should be spotless in no time. I've decided to ignore him for the time being.

An earth-sized world with an ammonia-rich atmosphere orbiting a gas giant. The landscape has eroded into a karst geography that stretches over a vast distance.

Ammonia is unstable in an oxygen atmosphere, so if there's enough oxygen for a human crew to breathe, there HAS to be something continuously replacing the ammonia.  The most likely source is life.  It would be interesting to see what the world's oceans look like.
