Hi Eskhata

Had a go at one and have uploaded it There is another way to make more complicated textures I have found in Bryce if you have several planes and make some more transparent than others you can use it as if it were layers in Photoshop to create something more complicated. The Result wasn't as good as yours but I still think its passable.

Cheers

Karl

@Karl:
All the planets above has multiple layers. The minimum is two, but for earthlike planets I have several: -Atmosphere, -Clouds, -Polar Ice Caps, -Land, -Ocean.
Multiple layers is definitely the way to go.

if you are looking an easy and fast way to make planets within photoshop I think you are going to like this (I just fnished it a few moments ago):

http://www.solarvoyager.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8004&a mp;a mp;a mp;get=last#63766

the only problem is that you can't control clouds or bump layers like in 3d programs (unless you put a terrain already generated in a 3d program).

But I'm a bit sick about infinite light and spot light, guess I don't know how to handle the parameters well enough, and IMO this new one looks better (maybe less realistic but not much)
