Hey guys. Or should I say Aloha? 
I'm a game developer from Hawaii who's been playing top-down 2d space games since I was a kid. Absolutely love the gameplay style. Now I'm the one building the games... I've had to learn a lot about building space art to make the game look good. No matter how good your game is, nobody is going to want to play it if it ain't pretty! 
That's how I found this site. I've been taking a look around. You guys have some serious talent! There's a lot I can learn to improve upon my skills. I took about 5 years of graphic design in Highschool and College, but space art is... It's a bit different than building business cards and web templates. It's a lot of fun though! :3
So anyway, the main source of my inspiration are my childhood memories and staring up at the stars. Hopefully I can bring that together with the game I'm building to culminate something pretty badass!
Look forward to talking with you guys around here and learning a thing or two.
