This is the first of the final pieces I'm going to put forward at the end of time. Still haven't got my hands on the giant scanner :-( so |I've had to photograph it with the usual set of problems. I've tried adding more colour to the star field and I've also included the galactic plain. I think I've made it look too solid though. I'd love to know what people think of it.

Excellent job! I find the starfield great and the galactic plane is just right. if you want any ideas for that, you could look at the milky way's plane. there's plenty of images on google.

wow that starfield (as usual) is amazing! I love that you added some color to it and the galactic plane looks great. I'm not sure there is really much I can add in terms of helping out since I'm not familiar with traditional media. Only thing I know for sure is that it's awesome!

Hello, Sophia,
great stuff! I like the harmonic color climate and the whole
calm composition.

Ah, another gorgeous painting. I love the galactic
plane... The colour is definitely working for you. It's too
bad its such a small picture though! I'd love to see the
details.
Until you scan it, all that I have to say is again, well
done! Beautiful work as always.

Thanks guys I always try and keep my colour palate fairly limited so the same reds that occur in the brown dwarf I also used for doing the galactic plain. I did stick some blue in too just to give the idea of the odd blue giant hanging around. I've also tried to be very deliberate about the composition, very much with the idea of thirds in mind with this.

oh, by the way, what kind of galaxy is this? a radio or emission galaxy would probably look like this, but a galaxy like our own would be a faded blue-ish color. not something you should change, but something that's always good to know. don't feel like you are limited to those colors. it looks wonderful, much better than what I can make on a piece of paper

Cheatsguy777 - I'm a lttle embarrased about this but I had intended it to be our's. It's just when I started putting the colour down I got carried away trad media can be a little unpredictable sometimes, often an operater fault So I ended up with a big red stripe across the paper, I managed to shape it and reduce it a bit, and of course putting the graphite over the top and the addition of the star field splatter helped knock it back. I still think it's too solid.
