Hello, Karl,

welcome back!

It's good to see Your growing skills in creating complex
Bryce models. Looks good to me.

Hey - that would be a perfect entry for our brand-new
forum »spacecraft designs«. I think I will move it there, if it
is okay for You.

Very cool ship design Karl. Congrats on going mac, I wish I could do that right now. My PC just crashed and I lost almost everything!

Hi Karl, the only crit I have is that:  We would love to know a little about how you went about designing her and some of the difficulties you had.  Karl, you have  come a long way since your earlier models.  You are REALLY getting to know your way around Bryce.  Two thumbs up on this critter.  Jan

Thanks guys

and in answer to your question Jan I decided that I needed to try a new type of design because I have been doing this for a while and after a while I felt that most of my space ships were too similar. So I had a think about it and looked at pictures of aircraft engines. This ship has taken nearly a whole year to complete and it had originally different thrusters but they where too small to push the ship through space. I find that Bryce is the easiest 3d program to use myself because I have tried some of the others like blender and wings3d and I didn't get on with them very well. Designing her was very difficult and time consuming it tooks at least 30 mins to save it. I used lots of different shapes and colors to get the best effects.

Thanks again oh and here is a much better image of her

Karl

Hi Karl, I've been looking at all the nicely curved tubes in what I assume is part of your engine assembly.  I didn't realize that Bryce can do that.  One thing I would like you to check out for me, create two smooth spheres and substract one from the other.  In Carrara the assembly jumps from 18KBs to 43 KBs as a .car file and as a .obj it jumps from 90 to 547 KBs.  Jan

Hello, Karl,

i guess the 2nd view looks more impressive because You
can see more of the detailed work.

Compared to this well detalled parts the bow/nose looks a
little bit to bulky. I guess a sphere would look good at the
top of Your ship.

Thanks Guys oh and Jan here is a picture of the actual engine. It is a Hydrogen Coverter and what it does is it converts Hydrogen into Gamma Rays and its energy is mindboggling. Well I hope this helps oh and I have found that when I work in Bryce I work on different parts of the ship such as Command Module, Engine, Thrusters,Body and all other object seperate objects like Computers and Astronaughts and then add them all together slowy making sure they align the way I need.

Amazing looking engine! That's a ton of detail work and it goes a long way to showing how commited you are to your project!
