An asteroid may impact Mars next month with the force of 3-50 MT or more!

Get out your telescopes (if you have one that can get that good resolution)!

Mark, I don't know.  Those odds 75:1 against giving Mars ye olde whack.  We'll probably know more later, odds may get lower--However I think its going to be a near miss.  What I think its going to happen is a change in the asteroid's orbit due to the gravitational pull of Mars--You know it might be neat if it becomes another moon instead.  Jan

If it hit it would be spectacular, but i hope it will miss, which is in fact almost sure for me. I think odds 75:1 are too small.

The odds decreased from 1:350.

It may not hit, but 1:75 seems pretty slim that it won't hit. The orbit of the asteroid still hasn't been worked out yet.

Opportunity may have the best seat for the show!
