Okay, I get the shielding stuff.

What I didn't like is the way the nebula bleeds over into the stars... it seems very... well, strange.

To whom it may interest: I hate to be held back by uncertainties when I attempt to achieve some level of realism in a picture, so I decided to learn a bit more about stars and nebulae.
