I know my last post is only 2 days back... Here I am heading for realism(with exception of the hues and its title). I have been working on this kind of large yet detailed nebulae for a while. The nebula`s main body was rendered in one go in Artmatic, because I would not be able to get this kind of result in PS. Some dark nebulae as well as the stars were added in PS. As I am planning to do some HiRes works, I would like to know what you think about the neb and specially the stars. I will probably use non-flare stars in the bigger version to give it more the appearance of a nebula right in front of us (Not captured by a camera). Realistic or not, I love the green hues. Somewhat inspired by Ms.Green (Thanks, novastar) . C&C welcome. Full Wallpaper View : 1024x768

Hi Dick , I certaintly agree with you, no flares is the right way to go. Your star field again is wonderful, no crits. Your hues and nebulae are outstanding. I'm just wondering what a specular bloom effect would have on your nebulae. Jan

Hi Jan. Thanks for your compliments. I`m glad you like it. "Specular bloom"? Do you mean the technique you explained earlier. As I am not really a virtuoso in postwork, could you do me a favour and apply it on my picture, then post it, if it`s nice. Would be great! Dick

Hello, Dick,
You make it difficult for me to say something other than: Wonderfull! It’s
a poor word for all the great feelings I have wehn I see a nebula like this
one.

Green isn't necessarily good, but this green is! Great work... things I don't like... hmm..
Blending still seems not 100%, while very good, not 100%. And whats the black thing at the top?
Hey, just being very nitpicky, and these critics are mostly personal taste. Great work!

Hi Dick, well good is extremely relative and in the eye of the beholder. Some people like it others couldn't give a Gingo's kidney for it. Additionally, it may not apply to all renderings. It's just a PS tool. With that said here it is: You can control the amount once generated from none at all to 100 % (that which one sees in false colors) Jan

Thanks, novastar, Reimund, tha_rami and FireStar for the compliments novastar: yes, green is good...and magic! tha_rami: thanks for the crits. stars: Not 100% is a bit too vague for me. Could please be more specific so I can understand why it`s not 100%. "the black thing" is a kind of protective shield that absorbs all rays so the star inside the nebula can grow the way it`s supposed to grow. Once the emerald star is born it will use it`s magic powers to transform the "thing" into a beautiful planet...or so. Jan: Thank you very much for taking the time and apply specular glow on the image. Uploading both versions was a good idea so one can easily compare. I finally prefer the unedited version because the pic with specular glow somewhat compresses the dynamics in the 2 bright areas. They appear more like 2 patches when edited. Also I prefer when the light appears a bit dimmer (Coming from deeper inside the nebula). But thanks a lot anyway.
