Hi Marcus, a hearty welcome to Solarvoyager!
Sure looks like you know your software! Additionally, it appears that you have been reading the crits about when to make a star field and when not too and about how far crescents should go (that's my gripe). IMHO, your suni, the planets textures, and the crescents are perfect. This is one exceptional piece-- a hearty Jan

Good for a first, nice planets! You should add some stars though, the canvas looks a little blank.

There's one star that I see, I mean that there should be a star field.

It has a starfield, it's just very subtle-download it and increase the brightness by about 18 percent. The sun's glare blocks most of it (as it would realistically). Sometimes the person uploading their art may have to increase the brightness a bit (maybe 18 percent) to show everything in this forum. Jan

It may be there, but it's definitely too dark

Well I like it even if the field is hard to see. Looks like the planets are huddling. They must be lonely or afriad or they are about...umm...cant talk about that here.

Thanks for the warm welcome and your comments, guys .
@Wethrin: The entire image was done in PS.
@Olorun: There IS a starfield, covering the whole area. Since the stars are small and dim they get blurred and are hard to see in the preview but in the larger image they are very present (if you have trouble seeing them then you might need to recalibrate the brightness/contrast of your monitor). If they are too dark or not may be a matter of taste, but they are pretty much the way I wanted them to be.
In too many images starfields are overused to quickly cover big areas with detail, and in my opinion, too bright stars distract from the main actor(s) of the picture and they also take away some of the atmosphere and mystery which is what fascinated me in space scenes in the first place. In my picture I use stars only to indicate the huge dimension of the space and its emptiness and to add to the mysterious (and somehow romantic? ) mood. I hope I succeeded at least to some extent...
Greetings
