For those who live in the Boston area, or would be able to travel, this looks very interesting. The Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge sponsors free programs for the general public on the third Thursday of every month throughout the year. On October 16th at 8pm, David Aguilar will be conducting a seminar called "The Art of Space". Here is the description:

"Driven by dreams of exploration, renaissance artists painted worlds populated with monsters, gods, angels and all forms of bizarre landscapes. At the dawn of the industrial age, artists began looking elsewhere for inspiration to the worlds that circled around our Sun. They created vistas bathed in starlight floating through the perpetual blackness of space. They chronicled the possible future of space exploration and colonization, and presented to the human race worlds that dazzled the imagination. Today, space artists take us even farther to witness events and objects no human may ever see. But how do they do it? Tonight you will share in the insights of how space artists create their unseen worlds as we weave our way through the stunningly beautiful Art of Space."

You can find more detailed information at THIS WEBSITE. If anyone is indeed able to attend this event, please report back and let us know what you thought!
