The August issue of Astronomy magazine includes an interesting article about astrophotography, along with images from the Mauna Kea Telescope.  The online content for that issue covers the specifics of Color in space images, entitled "Am I Seeing the Real Thing?".  This covers a topic which we have discussed here before on several occasions, including a very helpful post in our Tips area.  Checkout the online article (via the first link above) if you've ever wondered about the amazing color in those Hubble images!

 

that news article was enlightening! It's also interesting to know how our eyes work and it's reassuring to know were getting the 'real deal' The article could hold sone key points for future references that i think were highlighted in robert's post, like how the newly forming stars give the nebula a distnctive red colour because of the energy output and how it excites the atoms and induces them to give off light! Very good news article, well chosen!
